BIC SPORT NORTH AMERICA becomes TAHE OUTDOORS NORTH AMERICA
On January 2nd the acquisition of BIC Sport North America by Tahe Outdoor Group has been completed, and the new company operating in North America will be known as Tahe Outdoors North America. Operations will continue from West Wareham, Massachusetts under the existing management and staff.
Chris Decerbo who continues as company Vice President commented, “We appreciate the four decades of support by the BIC Group which allowed us to become a leader in watersports across multiple categories. We look forward to our continued retail partnerships on our BIC Sport, SIC Maui and Oxbow SUP brands, and now also the new opportunities which will develop as part of the Tahe Outdoors family.”
Janek Pohla, President of Tahe Outdoors will become President of the new entity in North America. “Formany years I have admired the professional approach of BIC Sport, encompassing both their application of high technology to the manufacture of watersports products and their strength in worldwide distribution, particularly in the USA. I am proud to make this acquisition that will be a win-win at all levels, for all brands managed by the two companies. I am confident in the existing management team to help drive this synergy successfully”.
This transaction will lead to the creation of a new and dynamic worldwide player, with unique industrial technologies across a wide range of products, a well-established international distribution capability, and global network of outdoor and watersports retailers.
The BIC Sport range of products will continue to be manufactured and sold under license, together with the SIC Maui & Oxbow SUP Brands.
